"Waseda University Dr. Tsubouchi memory theater museum" which was ward designated tangible cultural property, building was known for Waseda University professor as literary person, and, in commemoration of seventy years of age (70 years old) of Dr. Shoyo Tsubouchi who was pioneer of Japanese theatrical worlds and all 40 translation completion of "the shake pya complete works", it was built in 1928 by the support of more than 1,500 volunteers of learned society, theatrical world. The design of the Theater Museum was modeled on the historic Elizabethan "Fortune Playhouse" built in the 16th century. The covered area in front of the building represents the main stage of the playhouse, with entrances on each side. The museum's reading rooms correspond to the backstage area, with the wings that flank the main entrance as box seats and the open area in front of the building as ordinary seats. We collect drama-related materials of all parts of the world and display as well as Japan in the hall. In *yokinenshitsu, we can follow life of *yo and step of theater museum.
