Dyeing industry is a local industry of Shinjuku. It used be Kanda and Asakusa that was famous for dyeing, however, people who dedicated themselves to dyeing industry there moved to Shinjuku from Taisho era to the beginning of Showa Era in search for fresh water of Kanda river. Even today, there are many craftsmen.
"Village of sen meets", and no origin is dyeing studio having history that is old in ward opened in 1920 in Ochiai. Today, they offer us not only Japanese traditional clothes, but also ornament and furniture.
