Plan exhibition "image that place where evala appears disappears"
In NTT interchange communication center (ICC), we hold plan exhibition "image that place where evala appears disappears" until from Saturday, December 14, 2024 to Sunday, March 9, 2025.
For "art" (visual arts) which is expression domain that we did mainly on so-called sight, there is "sound art" as expression that we did mainly on hearing. By sound art, various sounds including material which recorded natural environments sound not to move to musical sound (sound played with musical instrument) are used, and what "we listen" to itself is distinguished from music that similarly is art expression by hearing by the subject and characteristic such as doing. We have the side called the presentation of the perception world that spreads out because that listens. Thus, for art which we put too much importance to in seeing sound art, it may be said that it is expression to show another thing seeing to.
As well as activity as individual, Mr. evala performs much collaboration, and it is musician playing an active part in the wide field, and he is sound artist after the 2000s. From 2017, we develop project "See by Your Ears" creating new hearing experience at home and abroad. Work group which rouses visual imagination of person of appreciation can almost get evaluation that is high as thing "seeing with ear" by original "spatial composition" that made full use of sound system which does not depend on existing format literally though they are comprised only of sound.
We produced as collaboration with Akio Suzuki who was Mr. evala and world-famous sound artist in ICC no sound room in 2013, and, as for announced << fox having big ear >>, it was work placed as the origin that set "See by Your Ears" and directionality of activity of Mr. evala where it was later.
"evala place image to disappear to appear" exhibition is the collected studies in the present when we included new item for this exhibition of "See by Your Ears" where ICC which was a chance to produce important work in the history of activity of writer is held by venue series and exhibition that it is. It is minute, and new perception experience that what we listen to in built sound space and thing seeing blend is shown by various methods by work which develops from << fox having big ear >> and there, and has been announced in many countries, large size installation others which further used the biggest exhibition room in ICC in all rooms, plural new item.
